Scholarships
The Utah Municipal Clerks Association (UMCA) provides a limited number of scholarships for clerks and recorders to attend the UMCA Institute and Academy and the annual conference. For more information, contact Lisa Titensor, Clinton City at 801-614-0720 or ltitensor@clintoncity.com or use the link to fill out the UMCA Scholarship Application Form and send it to Lisa! If lodging is requested on the application, please book rooms at the less expensive hotel. The city will need to pay for the registration and lodging which will then be reimbursed by UMCA.
Certified Records Officer
Each city or town in the State of Utah is required to have a Certified Records Officer. Each officer must certify yearly with the State Archives Division. The Utah League of Cities and Towns hosts a yearly training/testing session for us at the Fall League meetings in Salt Lake. Certification may also be done online at the State Archives website.

Utah Municipal Clerks Association State Certification
The Utah Municipal Clerks Association State Certification program is designed to prepare clerks and recorders in the state of Utah for the challenges of the complex role of a municipal clerk. The UMCA State Certification is a rigorous designation earned by completing various educational and professional development opportunities. An affordable option compared to a CMC or MMC designation, obtaining the UMCA state certification is a great option for clerks looking to add to their resumes. This certification program is available through UMCAs partnership with Southern Utah University (SUU).
